Counting with Henry

If you have been on my Etsy shop, you have seen a few of the counting number sets. The original idea came from what I had created here for Henry. When I first tried this out on him, the best he could do was count to 6 but this morning I decided to try it out on him again...it has been awhile since he has seen his counting set.

It all started this morning when Henry asked how old I was and wanted to see how much more 34 was from his 3. I automatically reached for his beads and showed him the difference. This visual answer is why I am very fond of the Montessori Math program. There is nothing more clear than seeing the difference between small and large numbers. It is a great tool to use when explaining age difference and timeline.
